If you are playing INTRA and have been thinking about what it would take to play Metro, this is your next step.
A quick note for anyone new to the club: INTRA is our internal social competition and the entry point for many Stingers members. Metro is competitive play through the Water Polo NSW Sydney Metropolitan competition.
The Metro Development Series is the bridge between them.
This series is targeted training for existing Stingers members who want to develop toward Metro play. It is not a standard training session. It is structured, coaching-led development with a specific focus on the skills, game sense, and fitness that Metro competition demands.
When: September 2026, dates coming soon
Where: Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre
For: Stingers members, particularly INTRA players ready to be challenged
Cost: Free. Spaces are limited.
What the sessions focus on
The Metro Development Series sits alongside our Competitive Pathways Series but serves a different purpose. Where the Pathways Series brings experienced players into the club, this series helps existing members develop within it.
Sessions are more targeted than regular training and focus on the gap between INTRA and Metro play. Coaching staff will provide structured feedback across the series.
What it leads to
Completing the series does not guarantee a Metro spot, but it gives you the best possible foundation to pursue one. You will finish with a clearer picture of where your game is, what you are capable of, and what comes next.
This program is for players who train consistently and are genuinely ready to be challenged. If you are not sure whether it is right for you, speak to your coach or the Vice President directly.
